Foster Child Learns First Words

Three year old, J. W. has been in the Therapeutic Foster Care program since February 2010.  Upon coming into the home of Steve and Tamia Wade, he was not active. Most of the day he would sleep and would be awake for about 10-15 minutes at a time. During this past year, J.W. has begun talking and mouthing words.  He says "mama," "hi," and "bye."  He rolls on the floor playing with other children and his foster parents, and his favorite game is patty cake.  He loves being held and talked to by Mrs. Wade.  J.W. has made amazing progress in such a short amount of time.
