Afterschool Program

Raintree Afterschool and Educational Support Services’ goal is to assist school age children who are socially and educationally at risk. These students often are experiencing difficulties in the school environment.

The goal of the Afterschool Program is to assist in reducing behavioral incidents in school such as disciplinary actions, suspensions, and expulsions. Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Certified Social Workers facilitate group work after school hours in the child’s school.

The Second Step Curriculum is utilized in working with the student in developing social and emotional skills such as empathy, anger management, coping skills, bullying prevention and drugs and alcohol preventive education.

Counseling groups are organized with 8-10 participants per group.  The referral process comes from the school and parent. Each student is given the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills through practice and application in a fun and safe environment.
