We have exciting news!
Raintree is seeking mentors for The Raintree House girls. If you, your friend, family member, or anyone you know is looking to make an impact on the female youth of New Orleans, being a mentor might be for YOU/THEM! We are particularly seeking mentors with a background in education, mental health, or social work.
The Raintree House is home to 14 female youth in foster care. They have been victims of abuse or neglect and are working to heal from their traumatic experiences. The support of an additional role model can have a long-lasting positive impact.
Having someone older and wiser give them hope for the future, is the goal here. What they've experienced is not all the world has to offer- there's so much more!
Looking back at how you felt at their age, would you have wanted a role model to help you navigate life better? Would it have impacted you if someone else was there for you? Think about how you can make that difference in a young girl's life!
Your Commitment
Being a mentor requires your commitment to activities once a month. It's important for the girls to have stable and caring adults in their lives.
The first step is to apply.
Then we will review and conduct a background check.
Lastly, we will reach out and send you a date for an orientation meeting.

Mentors and Mentees will participate in fun, informational activities:
Painting
Going to the movies
